It's Friday night at 8:00 and I'm in my pajamas already. India has the flu. She has a fever, runny nose and "her head is sick". I put her to sleep in my bed tonight so that I could be near her when she wakes up, which she is bound to do at least a thousand times being sick. I might as well be within arms reach if it helps her sleep. It's not completely selfless though. It gives me no end of joy when, in the middle of the night she reaches for me, half asleep and upset, until she finds my face and puts her hand on my cheek and nestles back down to sleep. How could I pass that up?
I however, have a terrible sleep when we share a bed. She hates to have her feet covered and so is always kicking off the covers and I'm left freezing. She also insists on taking up 4/5 of the bed, leaving me a thin sliver on the edge to shiver on. She's so pushy. And she kicks me a lot. In the head. She's kind of selfish. And demanding. And she yells a lot. But she's good at kissing, and saying sorry, and when you tickle her, her whole body collapses into a wiggling, convulsing worm that she can't control and she screams like a delighted banshee.
I think I'll keep her.
