So, Now What?

The kitchen floor looked so shiny and my legs felt so strong and knowledgeable.
I felt it in my bones that I could.
I stretched out across it.

Nope.
I can't do the splits.
Not at all.
Not even close.

Darn it.

It's so wierd- I can't help myself from trying to do those things you used to do as kids. I'll walk past a nice patch of grass & I'll have this crazy urge to to a handspring. That isn't the worst though... I will try to do a backbend- something that used to come so easily to me, and just about die! I think control going down is a required element to that gymnastic feat otherwise it's disaster... Deep down we are still those exuberent children- wanting to enjoying the strength of our bodies, wanting to show off a little. I had to stop myself from doing the splits for the rest of the guests at your house the other week! Yes that is the only trick from my youth that I can still master.... barely

See ya 2night!

I tried a back-walk-over a few months ago - no go.
Yes, yes! My body remembers these things (man, I used to be able to flip over backwards!) and it is shocked (but accepting) at its own inability. My brain of course, will take years to catch up. Why is my brain so slow at figuring things out that my body tells me loud and clear in split seconds? (No Ang, there is no body in bed beside you)Good glory.
I hope you do the splits for us tonight. I'll egg you on and you can pretend to be embarrassed, and then give in.
