…just watched “Jarhead” and it got me thinking about masturbation. I was trying to remember all of the film and literary references to masturbation that I could think of, and it seems to me that whenever male masturbation is discussed there is this underlying sense of performing a violence against oneself, whereas when female masturbation is the subject, it is usually portrayed as empowering and positive and almost…pure. How weird is that?
Just thinking.
