Glory! Glory! There's the Salt.
I'm looking for the sea.
I'm looking to open my mouth and drink, so that my belly becomes full.
I am looking to float on the sunlight,
to swim in the foam,
to soak my cells until osmosis is complete.
I am looking to dive to the bottom,
feel my ears pop with pressure,
and to breath in lungfulls of the salty stuff,
like a fish, like a fish -
I am in the sea, and the sea is in me
doo, doo, da, doo.
I will fill these bottles
(The glass bottles, that I hang from my belt)
I will fill them up, full to overflowing.
Clink. Clink.
I am the salt of the earth.
And we are all looking for the sea.
I took the title from a children's book, "The Man Whose Mother Was a Pirate"!
