I'm gettin' the hell outta Dodge.
India and I hit the road next week for (at least) a few weeks of traveling around our fine province of Alberta, living in a tent, living in bathing suits, writing my brains out.
What else can you do when your house burns down, you loose your job (ya. reshuffling positions. great timing) and no one (L'Abri) has room for you and your two-year-old, all in a few weeks?
But, my dear friends, dear readers -known and unknown - come play with us. I know you can't very likely leave your families/jobs/loves/lives but perhaps you can lend us some? I would love it if you would tell us where we should go, what CD we should slip in the player, what books I should read by the lamplight. AND THEN, I want to mail you something back from that place/music/book.
So, send me ideas (and your mailing address). Close your eyes and point at the map, tell me what your favorite CD is, your favorite book, that place you visited when you were seven, the town with the funny name.
Call. Email. Comment. Write.
Oh, come on now. It'll be so fun.

book: Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close!
crows are the most beautiful texts that I know of. Find "An autobiography of a yogi" if you must. Two paths will take your beautiful moments to us: the North wind and the brisk stream.
oh anon,
i just finished "everything is illuminatd". ahhhh. that bit about the waterfall, do you know tht bit? - about learning to live with the sound of it crashing in your ears, and not noticing it anymore, but being left shouting all the time- oh, that bit made me sweat happiness.
i'm a little nervous to read "extremely loud and incredibly close!" now.
w.c- i'll send you a feather downstream.
