Willy-Nilly Baptists

That's it.
I'm learning Hebrew...and Greek.
If one more preacher stands up on a Sunday morning and throws centuries of belief out the window by saying with a smug smile, "In the original Hebrew, this word actually means...," I'm gonna get out of my pew and bitch-slap him.

I'm not sure what the context was, but I really don't care. Just let me know and I'll be front and centre to watch you ( & support you any way I can) as you bitch-slap a minister. Hell, I'd pay money to see that.

too bad you can't plan spontaneous frustration in advance.

Angela, i dont know if you remember me but i, caroline, met you at l'abri about a year ago. I remember thinking that in you was something i liked and identified with. now, a year after living and eating together for a short time, i finally got to read what you have written, a very small fraction of you, and my suspicions of your greatness were realized. I love sufjan stevens too, and spent two hours this afternoon digging my garden listening to him. Im glad to be able to read your stuff after so long.

oh caroline!
i completely remember you and i'm so glad you found me! i was thinking about you just the other day, actually, wishing we could have talked more, remembering our walk and talk back from the pub, and the first day we cleaned the kitchen together at the fellows' house. how are you? where are you? how did you find me?

Angela, im glad you remember. I found you through joel who i found through jeremy huggins, who is a friend of a friend of mine here in moscow, idaho. It turns out that the internet is a small place. As far as my life is concerned, i am going to massage school here in moscow and working at a plant nursery. My sister Alberta, whom i live with (and her husband too), just had a baby girl a week ago and so she is the lastest interest. Im sorry about your house, but camping and traveling and writing doesnt sound so bad, especially in canada. My mom (who is canadian) used to live and work at lake louise and so we spent a lot of time up there when we were younger. I would love to write more but this is method is less private than, say, email. My email address is jone7460@uidaho.edu. Please write me whenever you get the chance. I would love to read your book, too.

caroline,
yes. very small world - especially when you add that i dated mr. huggins for a while, and that i ran into another girl from l'abri (casey) when i went to grand rapids two months ago. crazy, crazy world.
is your sister named after my lovely province?

My sister is indeed named after that great chunk of land. My mom became a christian while driving through it on a cross-canada trip. I remember casey too. She came to l'abri the same day i did and everyone thought we were sisters. We got along really well, but of course, i havent kept in touch with her. If you ever feel like your traveling feet want to come to the states, my humble but excellent little town of moscow idaho is about 6 hours from the canadian border and it is definitley worth the trip. You could camp in my back yard that is nestled up against a beautiful stone church. I would love for you to come. If you come this summer around july, my brother in law Remy will be here and i think you two would get along very well. He is a poet and literature conesseur. So please come.
