What about People magazine?
hmm. not so much for me. you?
Hey!
friends,
send me some of your guilty pleasures. oh, how fun.
A few pleasures of my own...
The smell of my baby boy freshly bathed.
Warm chocolate dripping down my face.
The smell of rain after a hot august day.
Getting lost in a good book.
A song with a catchy beat and a good melody.
My husband telling me I am the greatest wife ever.
My son's laughter.
Gummy candies.
A beautiful photograph.
Red wine.
My pajama's.
Singing in the car.
My bed.
guity pleasures....
hmmm...
taking an hour making a music cd
flowers in the bathtub (i know)
rice dream ice cream
sleeping in past eight
leaving dishes in the sink
picking flowers and rosemary from gardens
karen, i think you and i need to do some red wine drinking together - when lucus wont be getting it second-hand, of course.
w.c- i've read your flowers in the bath confession before and it makes me giggle, but in a nice, cozy sort of way. delightful.
I haven't thought of "my pleasures" for a long time. Let me think... think....
*eating chocolate macroons
*napping under my duvet
*buying new scrapbooking items
*going for long walks with Dan (a rarity)
*nursing and reading a good book simultaneously
*getting unexpected little gifts
*driving to really good music
*swinging on any swing
*being able to buy a new piece of clothing for me
*cuddling with either son--whomever sits still long enough
*hearing either of my little boys laugh and giggle
*time that I'm not doing mom things: time I choose to do with what I want to do with it (i.e. during naps)
*being touched--backrubs, footrubs, anything, really
*marshmallow strawberry candies
*quality hanging out with friends when the kids are asleep
... to name a few. Thanks for the exercise of it all; I really need to do some of this more often if I can!
oh! and a few more (now that I'm thinking about it!)
*loooong, hot showers
*receiving a compliment
*taking pictures of things I love
thanks for indulging me!
reading by a real fire
driving in a car with the heat full blast and the window open
buying icecream on sunday
picking flowers from someone elses bush
guess,
mmmmm. yes. windows open, heater on.
give me a hint.
I thought it was more the ice cream on sunday one that gave it away
guess,
hmmm...
do we share an oma and a love for that coffe shop on the corner in florence?
OR
are you my favorite workaholic?
or
neither?
We do share an Oma
We do not share memories of a place in Florence
I guess it wasn't as obvious as I thought
More guilty pleasures...
Fort Edmonton Park (yes it is for the kids)
Going dancing
Recieving letters and never returning the favor (but always meaning to)
Still daydreaming about one day attending a ball(they still do have them-but my chances are slim - and I think the hoopskirt would be out of the question)
Buying Country Living Magazine and believing that someday it could be real life
Melanie Dawn!!!! oh i miss you so much cousin o' mine! what the HELL are you doing buying ice cream on a SUNDAY for? your momma's gonna kill you.
how's england? how's dan? how's LIFE?
no one told me fort edmonton is for the kids. i'm going next week. i wish you could come. ohhhhh i wish i could come for a visit.
hey. my family (the davies side, of course)is freakin' crazy, huh?
most importantly:
when are you coming home?
did you like any of the music/book?
Ok here goes- be prepared:
-Sitting in the tub for hours-reading an entire book & putting straight hot water in the tub
-Excruciatingly hot showers- you have to turn down the cold a wee bit at a time till it’s not on anymore.
-Eating a spoonful of sour cream right from the container- the same goes for nutella.
-Smelling my husband's neck.
-Smelling my freshly laundered bed linens
-Driving/walking late at night in fancy neighborhoods with my best friend Mel & deciding if the paint colour in a living room works or not & saying things like " that house could be nice if we added..."
-Leaving the window open in the bedroom in the wintertime while snug under the blankets.
-Sticking my very cold feet under my husband's legs hearing him shriek & laughing while he tries to wiggle away.
-Doing under water back flips & front flips in the deep end of the pool.
-Watching "So you think you can dance" or any other dance performance especially hip hop & break-dance.
-Beastie Boys.
-People magazine.... in the line up at the grocery store- I pick the longest line up.
-Dancing to rap & hip-hop.
-I rarely shave my legs & I kind of like the way they look fuzzy.
-I still love my pillow & take it on all trips.
-The feel of really old pillowcases & sheets- they are thin & very soft.
-Dancing in the car.
-Speeding.
-Singing old hits & musicals from our youth with you Ang at the top of our lungs.
you crazy nut! you didn't read the last few comments, but your list is fantabulous. thanks!
Loved the book and music
Thank you - It made my week
However no one wants to play the fireside games - I think we need to do that if I'm able to come home at Christmas.
Some of my (not so guilty)pleasures:
Horoscopes
My baby's fingers and toes
Single cigarettes
Dilbert
Loud music
Multitasking
Real life love stories
Chocolate
People-watching
Saskatoons
And- that coffee shop on the corner in Florence :)
hey new momma
it's so good to hear from you. oh, florence, florence, sigh. i think that trip is gonna be a little jewel of a memory for me until i die.
