So? Do you, my American friends, get to enjoy all this licoricey goodness, too?

You know, I've always seen those, but thought of them as the kind of candy that old ladies keep in crystal bowls that noone ever eats. So, they are in the U.S., but I don't know that I have ever eaten any. I will take care of that lapse in my culinary education directly...
they are old lady candies! completely. as is bridge mixture, which i also LOVE. eat up!
oh, and i keep meaning to tell you, i checked out that guy's blog you sent me - it's fantastic. the recent bit about his friend dying, was painful and beautiful to read.
Thanks for showing them! I've seen candies with those colors, but they're hard and sticky. I don't know if these are the same sorts... have to find some and try them now.
I'm glad you saw the blog-- I did not know his friend who died, but went to college with his wife. It has been beautiful to observe the community of Christ gathering around each other in that situation.

I LOVE those things! The best are the double layer ones with the white and black layers.
