I woke up to my neighbor pounding on my door at 2:30 this morning. My house was on fire. I called 911, got India out and watched the flames and trucks and chainsaws from the street, with India on my lap.
The fire didn't reach my apartment. The water did. A lot of my things will be all right - my life and my daughter for one. I have no insurance. I have no home.
I could use your prayers.

oh angela! i'm so glad that you are both safe. how terrifying. i'm so sorry. why can't you seem to get a break in life? oh my. i'm sick just thinking about it. what do you need? how can we tangibly help??
Hi Angela, Luis & I are so very thankful that you & India are safe. Our prayers are with you as are our hugs and able bodies (hey- just hard manual labor only- I will not be cleaning your toilet with a toothbrush for a whim ok??) and anything else you might need - you know where we are... Okey Dokey.

Do you need a place to stay...we don't have your phone number or we would call if you need a place to crash our attic is hot but free, if you don't mind listening to Lucas up at night...we offer our humble abode to you.
thanks for your kindnesses. we are (for the moment) staying with roger and sherri. i've moved out all of my stuff and we're actually, doing alright. i think i'm done the crying bit. if you pray like crazy for me, and i really mean that, i would be so grateful. i don't know what to do -if i should look for another place (that i can't really afford - ours was sooooo cheap), if i should wait the 4-6 months it would take to rebuild, if I should still go to l'abri, blah, blah, blah...
i'm gone most of next week for my book stuff, which is good, it'll give me a chance to think about my options.
